How to repair question

I backed into a tree that was in my blind spot.I was going slow. Pushed the rear bumper on the driver side in about 1 inch. I looked underneath and didn't see any bent metal. How can I pull the bumbper out about 1 inch ?

 

Attach a come along and start crankin

Chain the bumper to a tree, get a good running start and yank it a few times. Don't worry about pulling it out too far. If you do just run into the tree again and start over. I've done this before with limited success on really screwed up bumpers. I don't reccomend it.

I was reading on here earlier that their is a member who did the same thing and he laid down under his truck and pulled it back out himself....maybe you can buy him a case of beer and invite him over?


here it is-

only current damage on my truck is a small dent in the quarter panel behind the passenger rear tire from a branch kicking up when driving over it, and a slightly tweaked rear bumper from 'wheelin. I was able to tweak the weak-ass rear bumper back where it belonged with a little bit of muscle. I had no idea it was that weak, just climbed under and gave it a few tugs, crawled out and it looked like new.

This is where you made the mistake. You just wrap a chain around the bumper and back up over the chain. It will pull the bumper in.

 

They're made of aluminum foil. Find a 2 year old and have him pull it back into shape for you.

Thanks for the info. I had to loosen the bolts when I installed a hitch. I hope the repair is that simple.
