Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...

the main reason for dropping the rear cats vs the front is that the rear cats are not monitred by the engine. u remove the front cats and even leave the rear on and u will throw a CEL and have to run O2 sims to clear it. u've already lost plenty of back pressure from no exhaust. something to provide backpressure is needed. if u've already dropped the exhaust i wouldnt remove any of the cats....

I'm so glad Utah has a noise ordinance for cars. too loud is illegal here, thank goodness!

of course, my jeep ROARS. but its an old dirty inline with leaky exhaust. sounds like a damn semi!

All that did was kill the torque and the mpg. Get a siren if you want to be loud or better yet some hard hitting SUBS, but if you insist just chop the muffler and dump it...but you lost $$ in GAS and HP.

he should just do what I did, lose his serpentine, and overheat it as he tried to get off the freeway.

really opens the headers up! (by more or less cracking them in half.)

and dont worry about all that power you'll lose, just means you'll never have to worryabout speeding tickets!

I still have plenty of torque and my mpg's went up. Don't know where you're getting the idea that they would go down. That stock exaust was so stopped up. The flowmaster did nothing for mileage. The headers and removing the cats gave me a 1.5mpg increase. I have yet to not have enough torque for anything I needed the truck for. Although I kept the stock 2.5" pipes so that I didn't loose too much torque.
