I am thinking that most would say go with the 6 ply. The weight difference is probably pretty large? The cost would be less with the 6 ply. I am not a tire pro though!

C is more than enough for a taco, but if u do lotta gravel roads the 10 plies might save you. E is 3300 lb +/- rated, think of 3/4 tons, C is more like 2200 lb +/-. E will be stiffer sidewall and heavier a bit less mpg at the same size, 265/75 r 16 can be had in E or C.

Yeah E is very heavy. You should go with C.

Do you tow much? The E rated tire will havd a stiffer sidewall and you will sway less while towing. Also may get a stiffer ride. I am putting tires on in a few weeks myself, currently leaning to the E rated tire.

255/85 r16 has my interest, can be had in load range D, also overkill on tacos though.
