09 Tacoma 2x cab short bed

I just finished the intermittent wiper mod and really happy with it (thanks for the easy instructions) my question is there looks to be a copper wire in palstic tube that wraps around and is taped to the ingnition and was wondering what that is? Also I do not remember if I had a "lighted" ingnition before I did this mod if I did it no longer is lighted. Any idea? Thanks
