bypass green wire in dash tv

    i just installed an in dash tv in my tacoma and it has a green wire that connects to the parking break and i cant play videos unless i have my parking break on, does anyone know how to bypass the wire??

    Most units just need to have it grounded. I grounded mine to the radio harness ground. Some require a switch. (basically have the ground activated after the stereo is powered. Not simutaneously.

    yeah i tried grounding it but it didnt work. what switch are you talking about?

    All stock, except for audio and convenience add-ons
    That's all the parking brake does is connect it to ground. So either you had a bad ground or there is another required input like a Vehicle Speed Sensor wire.

    first place i heard about it was my local audio shop... they were out that day... i have the same unit tried a bunch of different grounds actually found one that worked but my A/C wouldnt work, haha

    yeah i looked up PAC bypass on ebay and everything was alpine video bypass

    okay will do, i read in some other forum that a relay would work and ground it in two locations, the remote wire and the parking brake.

    All I did with the pioneer DVD in the 4 runner was a temp fix till i got a toggle switch was ground a wire to the truck and twist the two wires together. Get in truck, undo wires, put back together and twist, hit ok on screen BAM! video on the road. Still need to get that wired right. I was out of town when I put it in and just ghetto'd it for right now.
