I'm planning on doing the satoshi grill this weekend and i feel very confident about it. I have bought all the supplies needed and have relocated the horns and painted the radiator black.
The only thing im second guessing is what color to paint the part of the
    plastic i repaired.

(sorry if i have stolen your pics)

Should i color match it all but leave the grill black---- I feel like this will emphasise the deepness of the grill, but might also bring out the imperfections in my bondo work.

Or, should I paint the inside black like the grill. [IMG]

I have a Silver TRD Sport.(haha, i just noticed the taco lean in this pic)

I'd say black because it would mask the imperfections a little better and you would have spend some extra cash to take it to a paint shop to get a perfect color matched silver.

I agree with the opinion of going with black. as for the cost of painting it silver, I still got a can of spray paint that I used to paint my eyelids. once its clearcoated, it looks identical. so the cost would not be a factor.

What imperfections? You're gonna do a good job. Regardless, I still like the two tone (black on the inside part) especially on a silver Tacoma.

:amen: Thats the positive thinking i like to hear!
Im sure the Lip (i guess this is what you call) would be smooth but the hard part would be to make it completely flush with the grill, with no gaps or wavey parts. if i go black, all that stuff will not be noticable to the naked eye

I say color match, you cant really tell its satoshi style with the black inner part.

Paint the inner part black. I have a SW satoshi grill and I think it looks better that way.;)

Haha, you make it hard to argue with your truck being in the banner and that it was once a TOTM.
ive decided to vote for black.
im sure the pictures of the black inner part dont do it's justice and that I have made the right choice once I see it in person.
the truck will be a BAFM once its done

ill start friday night and hopefully be done by sunday. i only got one shot so ill take my time.

    thanks eveyone for your input

I voted "black," but after seeing those pics the color-matched isn't bad at all. Whoever did those put some serious attention to detail & they look great!. Go with your gut.:)

Cleared headlights, Black emblems, Painted black valence on front bumper, 2.5" 5100 Billys front, 1.5" AAL rear, Satin black TRD O/F wheels with 265/75 16 Definity M/T, Spidertrax spacers
I say color match...I really like depth that's perceived from the front.

The black would hide the imperfections, BUT if you are careful and take your time with the bondo, you should have little to no imperfections to worry about.

Maybe do the color matched first, if you don't like it, do it black...

    Kind Regards,
    Ryan
