Retarded Newb Question. 285's? 5100"s??

I must be a retard.

I searched and ended up comfused.

So I'll be simple as I just need one guy who has this combo to say "Yay or Nay".

2009 A-Cab TRD 4x4 Sport.

Just bought a set of 951B Moto Metals 17X9 with -12MM Offset and 4.5 Backspacin'.

Called Sonny to order the 5100's to take the truck up 2.5" in the front.

Assuming my 09' came with whatever the rear leaf TSB is?

If I remove the front mudflaps all together will this combo Fly or Die?

yup you can do it, not because of the 5100's but because of the offset rims

 

That what I was hoping....Sonny at Down South Motosports was thinking it would straight rub when the steering was locked.

I just want the 285's on the derned truck!!

The mudflaps will require complete removal right?

 

remove mud flaps and you will have to cut some plastic in your fender that should be it as far as I know you would rub on the ucas if you had stock rims, but seeing how you dont you should be all good. Might want to wait till someone else replies that has done it tho, as I havent but have been doing my research cause I plan on doing the same thing as you.

 

that should work with complete front mudflap removal and trimming of your inner fender well, the black plastic stuff, just cut that "nub" off that's hanging there and you shouldn't have any rubbing issues

i have 285/70/17s mounted on revolvers with -12 offset and 4.53" bs and no rubbing what so ever with no front mud flaps and trimmed wheel well

Bilstiens 5100's front only $172.00 shipped.
Bilsteins installed and truck aligned $175.00
285/70/17 BFG AT's $865.00 mounted and balanced.

Grand Total= $1762.00

Will add rear Billies at a later date if the front works our without having to do some indepth lift kit deal....

Hopefully this dosent become some insane project. I want it to plug and play...I have a Harley that takes all my spare cashola!!

You have the 5100's set at 2.5" without adding new control arms to address alignment issues??

 

did you get the tire pressure sensors?

 

I have mine at 2.5 with stock control arms

 

I am just getting my alignment done as I type this I will post pics of mine probably tomorrow

 

Interested to see if it aligns good and how it rides. I'm undecided between 1.75 & 2.5. Thanks

 

it rides good a lot stiffer than the stock shocks but imo a way better ride

 

I have mine set at 2.5 an it rides as it should, nice and tight !

 

Check my gallery for pics. When I had my alignment done the only thing that wasn't to spec was caster it was off by a little. Toe and camber were good. I do have the aal on the rear
