Does someone have a picture of a rusted frame that qualified for the buy back?

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I doubt you will find one is SoCal. It's pretty much for the "Salt Belt" states.

Okay, got the OFFICIAL PHONE CALL from JOE (i'll leave out the last name) from Toyota today. I'll meet him at the local dealership on Friday. He says he has the check in hand for almost $13,000. I need to bring him the free rental car (2009 Camry) I've been using, my title from my '99 Taco, and they'll make a copy of my VA driver's license. Then they'll give me the check. He said the whole transaction should only take about 10-15 mins. Whooo-Hooo!!!

Trust me nad, as soon as I got home (6 hours later) I took a screwdriver and took it off! Besides, VA requires a license plate on the front and back so it was coming off anyway!! Good call though!!

raskal, the Toyota Rep told me on the phone today that the Taco's affected were mainly affected in the "snow" states (PA, VA, WV, OH, NY, etc) He said VA was even borderline. Places around VA Beach didn't have as many affected as those in the mountainous areas of VA where I'm located where we get snow!! Sorry I didn't get any pics and my trucks already at the dealership. Just look for rust anywhere on the frame rails. The test is EASY. Take a ball peen hammer and with moderate force, strike the frame and see if the hammer goes through. Mine went through and left only a small hole and was enough to FAIL, thus qualifying!!! Everything you need to know is online. Believe me I know. I did it for one of my firefighters that works for me and his truck is sitting at the Toyota dealership RIGHT NOW awaiting his check as well!!! He has a 2000 with only 140,000 miles and got $13,600!!

This is crazy generous. Frankly, I'm surprised that high book was over $8k on a 1999 with 230k miles.

With offers like this, they'll retain customer loyalty even with the frames rusting through.
