Okay, so this next week I decided to bite the bullet and do all my tinting.

I wanted to get some headlight protectors, found the lamin-x website posted by another Taco owner here. I have a mag gray 09, so it's a dark color. I was thinking of-

    Gunsmoke headlights
    Smoked taillight covers
    Yellow fog covers

    http://www.lamin-x.com/ shows the diff shades.

Do those sound like they would look good? Any taco owners have em on and can show em off? Also planning on doing a Satoshi grill with some slim lights behind it eventually, so I'm not worried about losing lighting ability.

Also they say it's for 05 plus tacos - I know the taillight style changed, but did the shape change so it would affect application of these guys? Just curious.

I think that sounds like a good setup. Now sure about the taillight situation though.

Thanks. Yours is one of my favorite tacos, as far as the custom stuff goes. Do you have these on your fogs? Or did you do something else?

Oh also - is there any concern about the local PD being unhappy with smoked or really dark taillights?

Yeah I have the yellow lamin-x for my fogs with a 3k HID kit. Now for the smoke or dark tail lights, it all depends on where you live. I'm not to sure about the AZ laws so ask around TW. There's a bunch of guys on here from AZ so they should know.;)

you dont need chris4x4 to tell you that shading your headlights is a silly idea (even if you add lights to your grill eventually) and that shading your tails will make it harder for people to see you braking. go buy a honda if want to do all that stuff...and with all the fog you get out there in AZ im sure the yellow lights will help you out a lot...but then again, all my opinion..

concerning the product, i've never heard anything bad about the lamin-x stuff. i do not believe the tails have changed. i have the 09s on my truck and can compare them to the 05s i took off and get back to you...

    Hey yosh-

I saw another users truck on here, and they looked sharp. The grey on the tails matched the grey on the truck.

I asked the local PD and they said legally you could have some tint, but he wouldnt say how much... he did mention however that they really couldnt care less as long as they can see your brake lights when theyre engaged. Told me I would have a hard time finding any officer enforcing that nonsense.

Truck I mentioned is joe coasties, it's in the show off thread here
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/29495-show-off-14.html

Oh, joe coastie. Whatever. See if you like it, I do.
