So with the endless threads and researching that I did here on TacomaWorld...I think I have a good idea of the lift that I want to get for my 2009 Tacoma DC 2wd Prerunner. Please let me know if this sounds okay. Positive and Negative comments are welcome.

First off, I wanted to break it down into 3 phases since I want to lift it right and don't have all the cash to do it all one time.

Phase 1 - Install Camburg 4" Spindle Lift w/ extended brake lines, Camburg Front Coilovers(or the Billy 5100 Toytec Coilovers - probably set to 1"), and AALs to level the rear.
Phase 2 - New Wheels & Tires(haven't jumped into this section yet since my first priority was getting the lift).
    Phase 3 - TC UCA's(although maybe not necessary...just a thought for a smoother ride).

    Questions:
    1. If I do Phase 1 first, would that look funny still running the stock rims and tires with the lift? Would that cause extra load on the stock rims/tires? I've seen lifted trucks w/ stock rims and bigger tires, but not lifted w/ stock rims/tires.

    2. For Phase 1, is rear shocks necessary or recommended.

    3. Should I not break it into 2-3 phases, but save up and do everything once?

I guess my goal is to not do a half-ass lift that'll wear down other parts prematurely. Let me know what you guys think.

You'll be fine with stock wheels and tires. no extra load, you'll actually be getting better MPG than with larger tires.

not technically, but yes you should get new rear shocks

One word of recommendation. Do it right the first time! I should have jump straight to what I have now. I wasted time and money trying to justify......

    good point by iamray....

this is a great website to get ideas. Im not a hardcore 4x4, just want a little extra. I first went bull bar and nerf bar for protection, finally got the tsb installed ( rasied the back 1.5 inches ), waiting on bilstein 5100's i'll set at 1.75 for the front. then some 265/75r16 a/t tires and i should be all set. plan ahead, know what you want, have fun

I agree as well. I will eventually be replacing my Toytec C/o's with extended travel ones, most likely ICON's. Along with changing my rear setup as well. Do it right the first time!

Whats wrong with your truck? Do you not like the LSD? Or are you talking about the Tacoma in general?

I trick people because it is debadged and soon enough I will have an All pro rear bumper and then eventually have a (non-functional) hood scoop so everyone will just be confused with what I have.

edit: Already replaced the grill surround.

Not getting the side wraps. Is that what you got?

All-Pro front bumper will be before the rear.

I dont push my truck as much as you do though so I don't know if I can justify spending the extra money, but I'll see how things go in the future.

Aww Snap...Phase 1 on order. I went with the Camburg 4" Lift Spindles, Camburg 2.5" Coilovers, and Deaver Rear Lift Springs. Will arrive in 1-2 weeks. Pics to follow. Gonna run the stock rims and tires for now just to get a feel for the lift. Not sure yet if i'll get bigger tires and run the stock rims or just go for the rims and tires. Gotta research more.
