Wiring for towing

I've found a good deal on a trailer hitch for my Tacoma but no wiring is included. Where do I find a wiring harness and how hard is it to install?

1. go to Toyotapartscheap.com

2. select the year and model of your tacoma...

3. then click on electrical

4. then click on electrical components

5. then click on relay

6. then click on towing harness...

at the stealerships they run about $25.49 but from this site you can get them for $20.39

Are you sure that $20.39 is for the harness for trailer lights? It's about $100 from the dealership, and most aftermarket ones are $30-$60.

I would think if you could get the factory one for $20 it would be in the Towing Bible.

 

Thanks for the help. When I get to the model, there is no Tacoma listed. There is a tC but that doesn't give me a towing harness... hmmmmm

 

did you follow my instructions for that website I had posted in post #2?

 

they are usually around $80-85 at the stealerships...i'm just posting what toyotapartscheap.com has it listed as...

if I need new OEM parts this is where I usually go and their shipping is cheap and quick...

but that website isn't hard to navigate at all...

click on parts catalog (big red tab on the left of the home page)

under OEM Automotive Parts there is a window where you can search by category using the year, make, and model of your vehicle

it will then bring you to a window where you can select show all parts, show mechanic parts only, show body parts only and to the left of that you should see tabs under your vehicle description...

from there you just follow these simple instructions and you can't get lost bro...

then click on electrical

4. then click on electrical components

5. then click on relay

6. then click on towing harness...

FYI, if you select "2009" then it won't let you select Tacoma. Database probably isn't updated.

I had to change to a 2008 to be able to select Tacoma.
