Icon C/O w/ 3" spacer lift?

Got a question for you guys, I was going to install bilstein 5100's w/ a 3" spacer kit and TC uca's w/ a 2" rear block kit.. I was going to set the bilsteins at the min. lift @ .85"
I was told this would be the MAX as the uniball would be maxed out in one direction..
Now I just picked up a pr of Icon coilovers-
So can I install a 3" spacer on top of the Icon c/o and just crank it up around 3/4" lift to keep the ride nice?
I know I can crank it up to get 3.5" of lift by itself, but I cant imagine the ride to be anything close to stock which is a main concern for me..

Thoughts everyone?

i would say just ditch the spacer and just use the icon's as your lift

dude I would ideally love to, but the ride is my main concern.. And need the 3.5" for my 285/70/17 xtreme m/t tires.. Im torn right now

I think you oughta just set the coilovers to 3". I am pretty sure you will have a better ride with your coilovers set at 3" than you will with them at 3/4" and a spacer.

i think since the spacer is a billet spacer that sits on top of the c/o it doesnt have any preload on the spring so it shouldnt change the ride at all correct?

If I'm not mistaken, you can't add the blocks on top of the ICONS. I have the donahoe (older version of the ICONS) and remember reading that you can't add anything on top of the coilover...

Mine are set at 2" of thread showing between the top of the adjustor nut and the shock collar and they ride like a dream with the UCA's. If I were you, I'd sell the blocks and put the money toward a good set of UCA's then crank up the coilovers. You can level out the front of the truck while you're at it and the guys at ICON said if you have aftermarket UCA's that you can actually max out the height with 2.5" of thread showing between the adjustor nut and the shock collar. This should get you pretty darn close to 3.5" of lift that you're looking for.

hey drrabbit I do have the Total choas uca's that I will be installing w/ the c/o- but i believe in order to get the 3-3.5" of lift they will be cranked out.. And as i have never owned a set of icons or dr before i dont know how they will ride cranked all the way up.. I am assuming that they will be somewhat harsh..

If lift AND ride is your concern, get a set of spindels. The route your considering, useing spacers on top of CO's, is silly. You run the risk of destroying your CO's if going off road.

you can add a spacer on top without a preload. You'll just need to go to the hardware store and get longer grade 8 bolts. I have 3/4 spacers on top oh my DR/Icon coilovers. I also have camburg UCA's but it should be ok without, just don't crank the coilovers and also do the 3inch spacer. Also remember to add a washers and locktight.

I'd say throw out the spacers and just get spindles as mentioned above. Then you can just keep the Icons at stock height and it will ride good or even great.

do this! thats what I will do when I get the $ for spindles. soften up the icons and get lift from spindles, then a shackle flip to help level it. Blocks and spacers are junk IMO

hey bro on your c/o what did you set the lift at? your a 100% correct there should be 0 preload as its on top of the coilover itself.. My only concern would be too much lift, anything over 3-3.5" would bind the uca upper bolt to one side.. How much total lift do you have and how is the ride on your setup? also what lift did you do in the rear? do you have any pics of your ride
