I purchased a used 2007 2wd Access Cab (39,000 miles, 2.7L , Auto) for my Father a few weeks ago. He mainly drives it in the city on short trips.

After driving it for the past few weeks, he reports only 15 MPG city with the AC on.

His last truck, a 2000 Nissan Frontier King Cab (2wd, 2.4L, Auto), got 19 MPG city.

I thought 15 MPG was a little low based on the EPA rating.

Does anyone else get the same mileage with the 2.7L / Auto in strict city driving?

The Tacoma runs great, so I don't know what to check for fuel mileage.

Start the trip at fuel up. Then next time he fills up, take the amount of gallons you put in then do the math. Miles/gallon.

Odd, this does not sound like a 2.7L. In-town he should be averaging around 20-23 MPG (depending on driving conditions and MODS). He should not be getting anything less than 20.
