^I agree. I did it for years in NJ and it is no fun on a 55 mile daily commute.

nah... I'd bet you're bypassing the shifter and that's why it feels bigger.

Thanks, for the info. I just registered to ask this one question...
When will I be able to get one? I was going to grab an '08 in a couple weeks, but perhaps I should wait until the 09s appear to get traction control.

not to change the subject and sorry if this is asked before...but other then the safety feature upgrades, the only things about the 09 that peaks my interest is the LED lights and smoke headlights...what are the chances these can maybe fit my 06 should i decide to upgrade?;)

smoked headlights you can do yourself w/ the black headlight mod (search around if you dont know what it is). cost me less than $4 in paint and a few hours and the parents house using their oven!

LED taillamps might/might not fit. they are stated as a redesign, but i dont know if the base that mounts to the truck is the same or not? we will have to see as the time progresses..

Just now had a dealer tell me that alot was changing. Things that are on the Tundra are going to be on the Tacoma. He is trying to get me a list of exactly what.

None yet, they will be coming though.
I selected the standard five speed manual transmission, with my 09 Tacoma. I am fortunate and dont have to fight bumper to bumper traffic to work. Will use it to teach my son how to pay attention to RPM, speed, and what gear to be in.
