Hey it appears to me that my trucks day time running lights are on all the time. I dont really know exactly what the mod does but no matter where I have my headlight nob set to i always have the orange lights on.

    here is a pic

so basically I am thinking that the guy who owned it before me did this mod. or is this how it is supposed to be stock?

Seatbelt chime turned off, Toyota bedmat, Wet Okoles, stock other than that.
I'm almost certain that whoever had the truck before you did the mod. I have an 09' that I bought brand new and it doesn't have DTRL.

That's because they're not standard on all models. It's extra on some of the TRD value packages. Mine doesn't have them either. Would have been a few hundred extra for the next package and that's the only thing it adds, and I didn't want DRL's.

Some dealers are doing it, not all. It's not factory stock.

Either the previous owner did the mod or it came as a factory option. It seems like not too many come with DTRLs from the factory but it is an option that some get. Either way, you have DTRLs now.

extang trifecta tonneau, tinted windows, side step bars, sill plates, bug deflector, TRD exhaust, K&N filter, carbon fiber CD surround, tow kit, it's a Canadian truck so the TSB 4 leaf springs and bilstiens were done at the factory, vent visors, ipod adapter, and weather tech mats.
If you are from Manitoba as your info says, then don't all Canadian trucks need to have DTRL before entering the country? As Toyota tries to figure out why my DTRL's aren't working.

DRL's were factory stock on my '09 as well. I actually like them, now. I was disappointed when I first learned that the truck I wanted had them because, typical on most vehicles, they're the half-lit, ugly a$$ yellow halogen versions like on my Acura TL-S. YUCK!

I like these...they're the cool ones. I don't mind them at all.

The 06 TRD Sport that I bought used has them too. Well, just the dash lights. I don't know who did it. I've only had it about a month now and the orange is getting to me. I may have to do the LED dash light mod. I like the picture of the white with blue needles.

Mine came with it. It's a 35$ option, for a relay and a jumper, parts cost from dealer - $35. Might as well order it on!
