How many of you have had any problems with the stock unit? I'd like to get an idea of how prevalent this is.

This will be slightly skewed as most issues developed with the '09s...

My volume knob won't turn when it gets hot outside. It's like it just spins and nothing happens.

Yeah, 09 here, had problems about three days from the dealership. Strangely when I took it in the guy told me to just tap really hard above the cd player. I did and it worked....go figure. Not saying that's a global solution, I just haven't had the volume knob die since then.

My radio (CD Player) comes on and off by itself, no display when it comes on by itself, controls on radio don't work sometimes but will on steering wheel, hit a bump and CD stops working. I have been waiting a couple of months so far for a replacement. Truck built in Mexico.

Just bought my truck a few weeks ago it's a 09 with 8500 miles on it the radio was glitching out on the test drive so before I bought the truck the dealer said he would replace it under warranty. I have only had one time since I have bought it that the volume knob didn't work and no real glitches other then that. So no big issue for me the radio just came in last week after they told me it would be a 4 to 6 month wait on it. Now I'm just waiting for my suspension tsb to come in so I can get both done at once.

1st radio lights would flicker or lights would not come on, sucked at night.
2nd radio (warranty replacement) Screen would go off, right knob would do nothing.
3rd.....went with an aftermarket, couldn't be more happy.

Thanks...I'm still waiting for my truck to arrive, but this is A LOT more prevalent than I thought. Hopefully Delphi (?) has fixed this with the 2010s.

Have appt with dealer tomorrow parts are in. My subwoofer makes random noise according to the technicians at the dealership it is caused by something in the radio. I guess I will find out after I get the truck back and specificcaly ask what the solution was. Ie. what was replaced.

Very infrequently, the volume knob will stop responding while the wheel control still works fine. Cycling the power corrects the problem. And one time only, it has suddenly come up to soft volume from zero.... wierd. Like most of you, I'm not letting the 22 yr old master-mechanic-wanna-be at my dealer rip it out only to replace it with one that is going to do the same thing. It's not that bad yet.......

My station preset buttons stopped working for a short time today. I kept pushing the preset buttons and after about 15 seconds everything went back to operating correctly.

I've had my truck for 3 weeks.

Although I wonder, is the backlight supposed to be on ALL the time on the radio? I have daytime running lights, but my radio display backlight is always on.
