I am in the market for a New Toyota Tacoma. I would like to know the differences between the trucks from 05-07? I know the body stayed the same and heard the seats are bigger in the 07+ If there are any differences that I should know of please list. Thanks!!!

I haven't heard of anything different. Maybe some minor changes, but as far as body and engine, they are all the same.

I think that they made the 07 seats a little wider, but I haven't heard anything else.

Apparently a new "feature" of the 08's is a seat belt chime that sounds if you do not buckle up. A common post is how to disable the chime.

05 only dont have TPMS. Big plus in my book.
05's had HAC "hill holder" on TRD Off-road pgk, auto only, so not sure of the point anyway.

07 on- TRD package seats were made a little wider for US asses. Also a side bag shut off for serious off-roading.

Considering 4 model years, there are almost no differences.

    Tire pressure monitoring system.

Little sensors in each wheel telling you if the pressure is too low. If they are low on air, your dash lights up.

Can be a pain for those who run two wheel sets like winter rims/tires or if you want aftermarket rims. Extra sensors are over $400. A tire gauge costs $1.50 and common sense to check once a month is free.

or...u can just ignore the light...its no big deal as long as u know the pressure is good in all the tires. that's all i'd do if i had an 05. i dont see how its a big issue like others claim.

It's such a nasty looking light though. I can't ignore it.

my truck doesnt have it but the Camry that i had while the Taco was in the shop had it. it use to drive me out of my damn mind! I always buckle up, but where i work there are alot of times wehre i drive in back loading docks and parking lots at only about 5 mph and have to get out to swipe my badge alot so i never buckled up back there. it would just constantly beep and make me want to break something!

First time I saw it, I couldn't figure out what it was. Looked like some bare butt sitting on tacks. Had to pull out the manual.

Hey deer_pop...This is the seatbelt chime disable. BTW, it is #21 on Piercedtiger's Cheap/Free Mods list.

    1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
    2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
    3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
    4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

It's worth noting that this doesn't turn off all seatbelt chimes. You'll still have the initial short one, but the truly annoying ongoing nagging one is gone.
