Good morning all, I could really use some help!

I am on vacation 700 miles from home and my truck stopped.

It started fine yesterday. I went to get some breakfast this morning and it worked fine. When we came out about 5-7 minutes later, it wouldn't start. When I insert the key and turn, the check engine light and ABS light flash very quickly, but the starter doesn't even click. The headlights do not work at all. The power doors sound like they work, but do not lock/unlock the doors. The power windows do not work. My ScanGuage turns on and all it says is "Connecting...".

Any ideas abut what the problem could be? Is my battery going dead?

Thanks for any and all help!!!!!

    Scott

Very possible the battery is dead. Can you get a jump to see if it will turn over?

I would also suggest checking into the obvious: battery connections, look for blown fuse, etc.

Have had that happen. It's usually the battery. The Rav4 I had did that. Started and ran fine in the morning. Went to start it after work and the battery was dead. Jumped it, let it charge, and tried starting it again, no go. Took it to a Toyota service center and the battery had a dead cell. One dead cell in the battery was enough to render the battery useless.

Nothing yet.... I had to walk about a mile back to my hotel. I brought back the "Jump Starter" I borrowed before the trip. Unfortunately it also was dead. As soon as that is charged, I will walk back and try to jump it.

When you do get it running, head to the first parts store and have the battery checked and alt tested.

I really appriciate all the advice, THANK YOU!!

I got it jumped and it got me to an auto parts store. As soon as I shut it off, I could not get it started again....

The guy at O'Reilly said that the battery was no good, I put in a new one and it started right up.

    Thanks again!
