Hi, I saw this thread for 1st gen but not for 2nd. What's the deal with the rattle at 6000 rpm in drive? Sounds like it's coming from between the glove and the engine compartment somewhere but every time I put it in park to go look my rpms go up and the rattle goes away. Mostly notice it at stops in idle in drive. Can someone point me int he right direction? Just started a month ago or so. Thanks,

well...i'd say that if ur sitting at 6000 rpm's its the engine about to explode...

I'll check the cold air. That's kind of what I was thinking but last I checked it looked in order.

I have some noise coming from my dash when i turn my fan on. if it only does it when you have the heat or ac going its probably a bearing in the fan. at least that's what i was told. if it does it all the time then i say go to the dealer...

I have the same problem.. Im taking my truck in tomorrow and having it looked at. I know there is nothing stuck in the fan cause I had it out and checked it already. The fan motor itself is clicking. You may try taking the fan motor out and seeing if there is something stuck in it. Its simple.

Has anyone been able to find out what the noise is in the fan?

My fan is driving me nuts....I just haven't had time to get to the dealer.

    thanks

If the cabin air filter has been changed or cleaned there's probably leaf pieces or pine needles that have dropped into the fan. It's a pain in the butt to do but I picked the stuff out using a small mirror and a piece of wire. Now the fan is quiet again.
