X3. We have a 2-Ton and it's been just fine throughout the years.

Which one do you have? And is a 3ton needed or is it overkill and a 2ton will suffice?

A 2 ton is fine, but I prefer a 3 ton for trucks, as you have larger room for error. And, the 3 tons are larger, and more stable.

The one I have has gotten some bad reviews, but I have yet to have an issue with it, and I have had it for a few years. It lifts 21", wich is good for most vehicles, up to and including, ones with a 6" lift.

That happened to a friend of mine..While he was doing his dads brakes.. Big old chevy.. His dad ran out and lifted the car off him with his bare hands.. Adrenalin rush i guess. My friend lived, but not with out some facial deformities, And he is slow now.. shame, We used to ride dirtbikes as kids alot.

I've had a sears 2 ton i have had for probably 16 years now. the only problem is i have to put 2X6's under it for the truck because it doesn't go high enough.

but i always have used jack stands, Or put the tire right under the wheel (Caliper) in certain situations.

yeah one thing to make sure is that it can lift high enough. Some of the cheaper 2 ton ones will not be able to go up high enough to lift your truck.

I had one of those, the seal broke a month after the year warranty expired.

Now I'm rocking a red one from harbor freight, going strong for two or so years now.

Would you guys recommend harbor freight jacks?

After 9 years my jack is dead

Althougg my other car are light, due to double cab Tacoma, I imagine a 3 ton jack is minimum for my needs?

I just purchased this one at HF, also went with the 6 ton jack stands. The 3 tons were fully extended with front wheels barely off the ground. Wasn't the weight I was concerned with, but the extension.

I love Harbor Freight tools as much as the next guy, but I don't use any of their stuff where failure could cause a loss of life or limb. Craftsman 3-ton floor jack and jack stands here.

I can just crawl under my truck... I have the permanent lift mod so no need for ramps <_< it allows me to squeeze in and have plenty of room to work under it best mod I have ever done :redxfall:

My HF 6 ton jack stands are sketchy. On one of them the locking cog that locates the stand shaft doesn't work right so I have to make sure it's seated correctly or it doesn't hold position.

I'd buy a HF floor jack before I'd buy another set of HF jack stands. Jack stand failures are a lot worse, that's what you rely on to keep you from getting pancaked (not the floor jack!).

Thank you. That is the exact jack I am looking to buy.

I am not sure about the 6 ton jack stands, any links or prices to them so I buy the right ones?

    Thanks
