    Hello amigos,

I have been researching on buying a used Tacoma and i found one that is Crew Cab sr5 prerunner trd that has 100,000 miles on it and is selling for 15000. I wanted to know if that is a good price?? I my self has owned 3 toyotas in my life but never a truck. How is the reliability on a tocoma with 100000 miles and how do they run any suggestions. Thanks

100,000 miles for $15,000? first of all how old is it? either way though i wouldn't pay that much for a truck with high mileage.

Way overpriced...I bought my 4x4 double cab with 40k miles on it for less than 20K and it was a 2005 too. I added the warranty for an extra $800 so it was just over $20k OTD.

What area are you looking in?

That's alot of miles in 4 years... Is it worth it? Check the trifecta of kbb.com, edmunds.com and nadaguides.com. Edmunds I think would be the most accurate.

I just ran the edmunds with no options. It says 12.7k private party sale or 14.1k for dealer sale so 15k sounds way too high.

To top it off. Its just an sr5.

I've seen plenty of 06 & 07 TRD DC under 50K miles for around 15-17K easy.

If you are looking for an Access cab TRD. You can find those all day for 14-16K if you're looking and waiting.

I've been searching for a deal for the GF. She wants a INDIGO INK TRD DC and those are hard to find. I've found plenty of Whites & Silvers for those prices.

Simply ask yourself. Would you want your GIRL to have a past track record like that in 4 years?

Pass on that deal ASAP. Be glad you did too.:D

I paid $16,500 plus tax for my 05 access cab prerunner sport last year. It had 45,000 miles on it. IMO keep looking.

I was going to buy a new (MY2009) double cab, 4X4, TRD Sport for $27,500. I decided to check out ebay before I pulled the trigger. There was a 2007 double cab, 4X4, TRD Sport with 12,000 miles on it for $22,000. I spoke to the owner and for the $5,500 difference, I figured it was worth a day off work and a $49 ticket to fly to Boston and a $20 cab ride to look at it. With 12,000 miles and the remaining factory warranty, I pretty much had made up my mind I was going to buy it unless it was clearly abused. When I got there, it drove fine and while there was little evidence that it was taken care of (by my standards) it wasn't abused. There were a few cosmetic issues the owner didn't tell me about that I was not happy with. I made him a take it or leave it offer of $21,000. He took it, I did about $400 of cosmetic repairs and I'm very pleased.

My point is there are a lot of good buys out there. I'm not sure $15K for a 100K+ mile Tacoma is one of them. I think you can do better. It takes a little work but I think it's worth it.
