Undercover or Extang Trifecta tonneau cover

This has been beating to death I am sure. But I just finished reading through all of this years discussions and still have a couple of questions.

I use to own the Trifecta, its a great cover it would leak sometimes but that was more my fault and the way I installed the seals.

My questions are mainly for the undercover. I really do no want to take off the cleats. Is this necessary? Or can I just move them out of the way of the install. It seems like its easy enough to install and easy enough to remove. I even have the perfect spot in the garage to hang it up.

I also see that it overlaps, any risk of scratching? The warranty is a little crappy too, just 3 years.

I want something to keep things in the bed dry, I really would not be keeping anything in the bed to secure but would like to at times. I never had any issues with the Trifecta but I also had a pop and lock which I would like to NOT do this time around.

Thoughts???

i have the trifecta and loooove it. You have 2/3s of your bed in 30 seconds(after clipping the straps so it doesnt unfold while driving) or you can have it off in about 2

I did a lot of research and undercover ftw imo

Can you ride with it open... I'm liking the idea of the undercover to also protect the tailgate. Can you ride with it open?

I really like the undercover it is light weight and hard. It does overhang but there is no chance of it scratching because it never touches the paint job only the bed liner. It overhangs the tailgate enough that I don't think it you could open the tailgate with the cover down. I have never had it leak. If you want the cover to seal tight you need to take off the tie down cleats but you can buy some mini tie down cleats from toyota that fit just right. They just can't be installed between the shocks on the cover and the tailgate because they will interfere.

My vote is for the Trifecta. Have it, love it and wouldn't get rid of it. Never tried the undercover and have no reason too seeing how I love the Trifecta so much.
