we're lifting my truck today, and we get to the part where we are installing the new Bilsteins onto the coilovers, and we can't get the coils to compress down completely when set at 2.5". The Bilsteins aren't the way we are lifting the front end, there's spacers we're installing, do we need to set the Billies at 2.5" even with the spacers? Or can I leave them at the Normal Ride Height setting?

we have the coil compressor, just the safety pins don't fit, we are trying to get it hammered on, but we don't need to compress the coils for the spacer lift, the problem is getting them on the billies set at 2.5"

If you are installing spacers with the 5100s DO NOT set the shocks to anything other than the stock height setting of 0 lift.

FWIW I have never been able to use the safety pins with the Tacoma springs. The spring diameter is too large for the pins to close correctly. Just use your head and keep the thing pointed in a safe direction. You should be alright.

if I could go take pics real quick Rich i would. But i don't have a way to get them on my computer right now, and we're trying to get done by 5. and it's 420 now. if i didn't explain it well enough, we have a spacer lift in the front and back, and instead of using the stock struts and rear shocks, we are installing new bilstein 5100s. we were having a LOT of trouble getting the coils compressed to fit the 2.5" setting, and were wondering if it had to be set at 2.5 with the spacers.

I can't remember but we ended up getting everything in and set up, now we just have to do the rear. Didn't go with the AAL but rear blocks, and new 5100s for the rear.
