I guess it depends what you have done with your truck. I have a 6" Pro Comp lift on mine and I'm averaging 15 MPG. Not very good for a Toyota. This new engine really is not fuel efficient at all. I had an FJ Cruiser recently with the same engine and it too, really sucked on gas. Oh well. If we can afford the price of the truck, than we must be able to pay for the gass too.

Switched to 87 and after 3 full tanks, I was getting 260-263 for 17.5 gallons

I was getting around 300 when the truck was brand new, now that the engine is broken in I get about 350 per tank

I put in 17.9 gallons today in my 2 week old 2010 4x4 2.7 liter access cab at 431 miles on the second tank trough the truck. Light came on at 419 miles. Averaged just a tick over 24mpg, and only 20 of those miles were on the highway. The rest were around town and secondary type roads. VERY happy with that kind of milage as it's not even broken in yet. Gas was cheapo discount brand 87 E10 gas. This fill up I put in 87 Shell to see if it gets even better. Pretty good considering the truck only has 700ish miles on it. A long way from being broken in. :)

I can get to 400 pretty easy.

The thing is, the fuel light comes on when you have about 5 gallons of gas still in the tank, so its easy to be premature with the fill-up.

I have gotten over 400 miles to a tank but usually fill it up before 1/4 tank. If you have larger tires, a lift and drive heavier with after market equipment your mileage will go down.
