Just purchased an 05 Tacoma Prerunner TRD Sport. I'm loving it and can't wait to explore this site. Something I noticed the first day I bought this truck was the fog lights. There is a fog light button (I think) on the lower left side dash at the steering wheel. It has a picture of a light with wavy lines. I push it and the lights don't come on. Is there something I'm missing? I don't even know how to get started with troubleshooting this.

Welcome to TW! Yes that button turns on the fog lights. Your bulbs might be burnt out. I would try replacing one to determine if that is the problem. If not it could be the swtich itself or a fuse.

    welcome!
check the bulbs...check the fuse panel.
    good luck man!

edit. also, your key must be turned on for the fog lights to come on. they will also turn off if the high beams are on. look into the fog light mod in the cheap DIY section . easy to follow write up as well
IIRC, the headlights must be on for the (non fog light mod drivers/stock set up) in order for th efogs to turn on

Thanks all. I will check the bulbs themselves, then the fuse. Hopefully, I can find what's wrong. Thanks.

^^^ Like JonnySRT said, the fog lights only come on when your headlights are turned ON, and your lights are on DIM. They don't just come on without the headlights on. Just want to clarify/reiterate :)

Welcome to TW. X2 on what "Jonny" said: Make sure your headlights are turned on at the same time as the fogs. And the highbeem selector has to be set in the "low" position. :)
