Tacoma Tube Step Advice

Hey i was wandering if someone could help me in the process of picking out tubesteps for my truck. I have a double cab silver tacoma and was wantint to get the black tubesteps instead of the silver ones. I have seen these on ebay.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOT...Q5fAccessories

But was wandering what other people think who have tubesteps.... I was thinking black because my handles and mirrors are black and my in channel vent guards......

The silver looking ones .. the factory OEM tubesteps are silver, but they do not look like they match the truck color. So going black would be neutral with the handles and mirrors etc.... Anyone have any sugguestions?

Thats exactly what I have on my mag grey truck.

They look good! I like mine. Paid the same price from runningboardwherehouse though, so if you want em now and dont want to wait for ebay/deal with that nonsense, go get em.

Black looks better on most of the trucks, and matches the other black on the truck. I went chrome, but on hindsight, should have gone black.

Are you sure those are the same as runningboard wareshouse? Ebay has them selling for 289 and Running board warehouse has them in the 300 dollar range.

I dont remember the pricing, but those are definitely the same ones I have, and I got em from rbw. On second look those are slightly cheaper, with the free shipping there - long as you dont mind the post office handling them.

Just ordered mine (same color) last week from runningboards and I had one problem! They shipped with silver metal brackets! Went to Walmart and picked up some flat black paint and now they look great!

I had the OEM silver tube steps. I got them because they looked good in the photo of it installed. I installed them on my mag gray. After a couple of months and after I tinted my windows, it didnt look good to me. I thought about painting them black, but too much work. I sold them last week and ordered the N Fab nerf bars in black. I think those look good on any colored tacoma.

I've been trying to talk him into those instead of the tubes...

He won't listen.

Well, a coupla things to consider. Some mount to the body, some mount to the frame. I went with the frame mount bolt on black 3" round tubes. They look good but are really close to the body & level with bottom of frame so they really don't help much as a step but are good for door dings since truck is lifted & good for rocker protection but not as sliders. I also beefed up the mounting points adding larger rear bolts and stacked nice big washers between all 4 frame & mounting bracket points to sturdy them up. Not really diggin them so they'll be coming off soon but not really looking to ship them. Get sliders if you want good looks, sturdyness & protection for the same or less than those ebay prices for step tubes. See Demello group buy thread good til oct 31st...............

I have Toyota OEM tube step on my silver truck. Like it better than my grandpa 09 OEM Black running board. Look good on his white pickup truck.

I had some chrome Westin Platinums but I changed them for black Aries ovals. The Westins were so skinny it was hazardous getting in and out the truck. Like you said the black looks better.
