When I went to order my regular cab the dealer pulled out a sheet for the western US of all the trucks being shipped probably for the month. There was around 4 (I can’t remember the exact number) regular cab 4x4’s total. There lack of popularity is that they are on the opposite end of the trend toward huge trucks. However, I think if gas prices stabilized around $4 these trucks will increase in popularity. Personally I’m a bit of a minimalist (small house uncluttered with junk, no kids, etc.) so this truck fits perfectly in my life.

I LOVE regular cab.....much smaller and easier to manuver on these tight New England Trails. and yea i had to order my SR5 4x4 from new york and waited an extra month.....but its OK cuz it was worth all that time waiting.

But yea around here the 4x2 reg cabs are popular with the auto parts stores.....and no one else (cUz of snow)

and i would ahve paid the extra money for a v6 reg cab....can u imaging how powerful they would be haha

It seems to me they are puting less options on the reg cab. You can't get an 09 with bucket seats. I test drove an 08 SR-5 before I got my ex.cab. It was a nice truck, black with the 5 speed. I ended up with the extended cab because I had a 6 in my 97 and didn't want to go back to a 4. I would have bought it for sure if it had a 6.

A V6 regular cab? I would be an extra $445 plus the hit on gas mileage so I’m not sure I would have gone that route if it was available. In the 4 months I’ve owned the truck there is only one time where I could have used a little more horsepower. However, I’d rather have the regular cab I4 than the extended cab V6. The bottom line for me is I want a small truck for the fuel efficiency, the maneuverability, the handling, because it fits nicely in the garage and because it looks awesome
