87 all the way. ScanGauge tells me I average around 19.5 MPG on the way to work and about 18 on the way home. (slower traffic and more city streets coming home). 23 miles one way each morning and 23 back every evening. I am happy with those figures.

I get 16-18 (75% city driving) on 87 octane. Was getting 18 during summer. Getting closer to 16 since winter kicked in.

Man, you guys get some good milage. I've been keeping track of it for about 11,000 miles and I would guess my average is 17. That is about 50/50 city/highway. I do tend to do 75 and 80 on the highway to keep up with everyone else and I do floor it sometimes just for the hell of it. I mix it up on the fuel, sometimes 87, sometimes 93.

    A thing or two...
I got 20+ on the trip to the parents back at thanksgiving (10 hrs on the freeway). Since then I've been getting 16-17 around 50/50 city/freeway miles. However, here in NM the speed limit is 75 on the freeway, and I cruise at 85. I run 88 octane (mid-grade here).

I live in an area infamous for hills, you can't go anywhere in my town without going down an un-skateboard-able hill. I'm in high school so I don't drive any highways, I get like 14 or 15 I'd say.

Try all you want, you won't see 20+ like these southerners during winter. The northeast has winter gas, 10% enthanol now too, and its cold out. All work against you. I avg 17 in winter, but 19.5 in summer. You can expect the same.

Four tankfulls of 87 in the new '08 V6 DC 2WD A5 have yielded a high mpg of 20.4, and a low of 19.4.

I get 19.5 to 20.5 mpg. Since I leave early for work I have the city portion of my driving in little traffic (20 miles). Then 20 miles on the interstate to and from work. I have a very heavy foot. Then bumper to bumper traffic the last 20 miles home. I'm very pleased with that kind of MPG.
