Looking at places to mount my CB antenna and would really like to use one of those mounts that sticks up over the top of the fender where the gap is from the hood. Anybody have a link for one of these and pics of it mounted to a 2nd gen?? Any help would be great.

Man, I like it. Is this trunk mount? The base and antenna can be removed, right?

well i used to leave it on all the time.. had good reception there however i ended up moving it. all the wheeling we do over here is in the woods and branches would whip it back enough that the tip would hit the drivers window and scare the piss outta me...

I know this reply is 3 years late but I am wondering the same thing as you so I figured it out...

I believe the original poster is using a bracket for an NMO mounted antenna, similar to the VHF and UHF style antennas used in HAM and GMRS.

    https://www.theantennafarm.com/catalog/toyota-tacoma-lexus-lx450-2006-2015-8803

You can buy the bracket from several places but antenna farm is the site I linked.

I believe you will be able to order the Wilson 1000 "roof" mount antenna and it will screw into this NMO mount. I have circled in green the NMO portion of the antenna cable the fits into this bracket from underneath and then is held in place with a large 3/4" ring nut. The Wilson 1000 "roof" mount should screw down right on top of it.

I plan to try this setup myself as I already have this mount in my possession, just need to order the antenna. I will try to report back here with my outcome.

Edit: You can run a Larson NMO27 or Laird antenna with this NMO mount that are tuned for CB frequencies. The Larson seems to have good reviews and is only $50 vs. the $85 for the Wilson 1000 Roof. Just another option for future readers.
