I recently bought a 08' Tacoma double cab and are having a very difficult time determining what type of step bars to put on the truck. Though, I think I want the tube bars, I think they will serve the best purpose but also look the best.

The most difficult part though that I'm having wether to choose a chrome step, with the actuall step piece black or is I should just go entirely black for the step bar. I know the with the black, you take the chance of the black flaking off after a while, though I think it would look better. With the chrome, I believe that it is guranteed for life, however with a red truck I'm afraid it may look too blinged out.

Any how, if any of you have a red tacoma, 4 DR preferably with step bars, can you please let me know? I would like to see a picture of your truck with the bars so that it will hopefully resemble what mine will look like. A side shot of my tacoma is uploaded.

Stock suspension. I get compliments all of the time. N-Fab Steps, the smaller of the 2 diameter tubing, and gloss black.

    Radiant Red or Impulse Red?
I have the OEM step bars, painted silver with the black steps on a DC Impulse Red. They've been on for 3 yrs with no chipping.

Nice....I've seen those steps before and didn't care for them. Now that I see them on the truck, I've changed my mind. They look good, real good. I also noticed that you have the rain guards on there as well, which i've debated on getting because I wasn't sure what it would look like.

Yeah, mine is more red that yours. But the steps you have look good on that.

So this may sound like a crazy question, but I'm assuming that since your truck is the same color as mine, the black step (regardless of the steps style) looks best on this bright of red, correct?

Like I said, I like the chrome, I just don't think it would look as good as the black. it would be a bit too flashy. Is this why you chose the black?

sliders are pretty much a lower roll cage for your rocker panel do a quick search for them on TW and you'll see some pics of them

Sorry for the late response, but Im not a fan of chrome at all. Im actually preparing to paint over all of the chrome on the truck.

I really like the rain guards as well. Its very nice when raining and you can vent all of the windows.
