    so i have a tacoma sr4 access cab 5 lug
    i do not have lsd but i think its called open diff
    my coworker at toyota said we might be able to put lsd in my truck using warrenty
    will the prerunner lsd fit in the 5 lug?

    I think all the Tacomas use the same rear axle, just with different ratios and such so I'd imagine it would work.

    Kinda off topic, but if you do end up getting a LSD, make sure not to put synthetic in and dont forget the Limited Slip additive when changing the diff oil as well. :cool:

    i was planning on changing all my fluids at my work since i get the fluids for free.
    but great advice i forgot about the limited slip additive

    No they are not. 4cyl 5lug axle is 7.5in and the xr 5 lug 6cyl is 8.4in same size thats in the pre-runners. They also have a 8in, but that only comes on the tacomas with the locker. The LSD will NOT work.

    If a parts guy cant see that in the catalog that there are 3 different axle housings for tacomas then I wouldn't trust what he says.
