Question Correct me if I am wrong but.........

I read some where that behinde the back seat of the toyota's their is a vent of some type that works with the a/c heat unit in the truck. It was mentioned that when you circulate the air in the truck they close, and when you use fresh air they open. Has anyone taken apart their back seat and have actually seen these?...If so, would it hurt to close them off when I install the rammat for sound dampening?....Or is their not even a vent at all?

It's the black plastic thing in the center of this picture:

You can cover all of the sheetmetal with the sound dampener and still keep this functional. What benefit it provides I can't really say, but I'd assume it's there for some reason.

LOL! Not quite.

The blocks were to help position the driver's seat at the start of my build. There's a wire conduit on the floor of the cab and we thought we'd have the seat sit above it. Headroom was an issue, so the conduit was pulled and the seats were positioned on the floor with the headliner removed for additional headroom.

The truck looks a bit different these days.

all cars and trucks have them. its for cabin pressure. when u close the doors with the windows up pressure needs to be released sum place. most trucks have 2 one on each side. toyota just puts one in the middle.

Wow!...Very nice. You are going the prerunner route. Kind of looks like my 68 baja bug that was stripped for a full roll cage. Good luck!

Those bugs looks like they'd be a blast! Did you compete or just blast through the sand?
