Toss in the bed to keep out of the salt/sand. Semi-outta sight. Dishonest area? Coil lock thru the binding(s) using the the bed floor D-ring.

Seen a few racks mounted on a top of a hard bedcover. Pricey combo. But suppose you got a little more space & lockable underneath.

I've got the racks. I just don't have crossbars to mount it to. I don't want it sliding all over the bed that's why I would rather keep it in the racks.
