so, i've done a bunch of researching. found out some of the wire identifications and what not. also figured out that the temp gauge cannot be removed bc the buttons on it are also used to calibrate the compass to the magnetic zone that you're in. it looks like the only gauge that can be removed and replaced is the inclinometer.... or everything, but that defeats the purpose of this mod. I'm most likely not going to mod any gauge into this now. just gonna try and work with what i got.

That's badass. I'd try to find a rubber/foam seal to put under it to kinda close the gaps from the curved dash. Not that I could do it, but that's what I'd do if I was more inclined to rip my dash apart.

Props to you for modding your truck (cutting your dash), but I don't see whats the point of adding a compass/temp and inclinometer as gauges. I guess if you didn't have the overhead display, but nothing I would personally add.

Ok, enough pissing on your parade, good luck with the install, still interested to see how it turns out.

there is no really reason for adding it..... other than being cool. only one other guy has done it and i'm always up for a challenge.

update. did a test fit and everything is looking great! just need to drill the 2 holes for the bolts that hold it in there, clean up the holes, secure it down and part 1 will be finished.

here it is mounted. there's a little gap on the front side of it, but you can't make it perfect and plus it doesn't bother me. the gauge pod is flat and the tacoma dash isn't. oh well. atleast on level ground the inclinometer reads dead on... that's all that really mattered to me. no wires are hooked up yet. still doing some research.
