here it is mounted. there's a little gap on the front side of it, but you can't make it perfect and plus it doesn't bother me. the gauge pod is flat and the tacoma dash isn't. oh well. atleast on level ground the inclinometer reads dead on... that's all that really mattered to me. no wires are hooked up yet. still doing some research.

Nice! I like it! Looks great. That gap in the front is irrelevant.

Looks good. You got bigger balls than I do to be cutting into the dash cover.

maybe a small strip of a door seal to plug the small gap would make it look kinda rugged and finished? Either way i think it kinda looks bad ass.

nah. i like how it looks. i think if i do something to try and hide it... it'll be more noticeable that the gauge pod isn't supposed to be there. i think you would definitely be able to see it on the sides.

i know it doesn't look perfect, but you can't notice any of the holes at all once the gauge pod is mounted. it was scary to make the first cut, but once i got cutting, i wanted to cut more. it's pretty easy.

Great job on mounting...looking forward to seeing it all hooked up. If your concerned about the gap on the bottom, maybe try mounting it on some thin black or grey foam material. What are your switches to the left of the steering wheel hooked up to?

top row of switches: OEM fogs, Hella 500FF mounted behind grille, DTRL ON/OFF bottom row of switches: custom 800 watt in-cab power inverter (switch is from a 4runner), in-bed power inverter, and aux. back-up lights (turn on when engaged in reverse or manually turned on by that switch) oh and i've got plenty more switches in my custom FJ switch panel that i made to fit below the shifter. i love using OEM switches. |
