Seriously though, the Baja Ridgeline is freaking awesome.

That being said, the stock one is just odd. I would never be caught dead in one.

Hey thanks for posting a link to this article. It was a good read.

I would never trade my Tacoma for one of those, and I like the last statement of the article.

I personally think many of the features on the Ridgeline are cool. In bed trunk, lighted bed, etc. If it had an engine with more displacement/torque, and a better off road set up, I would probably be driving one. As for the looks, I dont think its any different from the Chevy Avalanch. For what the vehicle IS, (people who need a truck, and dont go off road at all), I think its fine.

My friend calls my tacoma a Camry with a bed.

Of course anything with IFS, he calls a car. I guess I kind of agree.

I have nothing against the ridgelines, but like the rabbit pickup of the 80s, too many of their owners try to compare.... on pavement. Same with Suburus for that matter, all types then smugly try to go offroad and all the "car with a pickup bed" issues crop up when they lack ground clearance and heavy duty components to get them over the first boulders buried on an easy trail.

Leave the cars on the road Honda owners, we will respect you there.

My brother has a Ridgline. He is the first to admit that it isn't an offroad vehicle. He bought it as a daily driver that would suit him and his career. Anybody who has ever ridden in one knows that they are a hell of a street "truck". It rides amazing and is very quiet. if I had a choice of what vehicle I would take on a ski trip, I would pick the Ridgline. The interior is well thought out and very nice. Towing capacity is right up with the Tacoma. The bed trunk is awsome for throwing tool boxes, luggage or whatever else into it and still have the bed to load.

With that said, I wouldn't be caught dead driving one!

It actually has a fully boxed frame, but its about half the size/thickness as a regular truck frame. Its a Ladder frame/Unibody. Also, before anyone bashes IRS....keep in mind, the H1 is an IRS....

My mistake, but it's still not gona be very strong.

If you look at the rear suspension on the H1, the dif is much higher than the center of the wheel, it's got a lot of clearance, I don't think the ridgeline is built the same way.

Nope. The H1 uses geared hubs too, which gives even more clearance. Im not thinking Honda advertises it as a "Strong" truck....Being as it only has a 5K towing capacity. However, a Ladder frame/Unibody should be plenty flex free.
