i hate the carpet in my truck

is there anyway to replace the carpet in my truck with anything else?

if so what is it? and whats the price range?
(anythings better than carpet!)

 

uuh what do you want to replace it with? I agree I would much rather have rubber floors, but give a little more info on your goals and what you would prefer over the carpet and we can point you in the right direction

 

Weathertech mats cover almost all of the carpet. Worth every penny...

 

Order some WeatherTech floor liners and leave the carpet in??

Pull the carpet out...Get a roll on or spray on bedliner??

 

I've seen the carpet replaced with Rhino liner type products. Pretty sweet mod IMO. You can save a lot of money by using a DIY product like Herculiner. I think it's only about $100.

 

I looked into getting a vinyl floor cover to replace the carpet but decided against it.

I have the weather tech digital fit mats front back and it's just about like having a vinyl floor.

 

What ever you do, think about soundproofing qualities! A lot of vibration, road and drivetrain noise comes up from the floor.

Weathertech mats FTW! I am very anal about my truck so I have a big industrial black mat cut to fit on top of the stock carpet and then all weather mats on top of that. LOL!

 

Get some aftermarket rubber mats. I have the husky liners in mine and love them. My carpets stay super clean. I can pull them out and hose them off and dry them in a few minutes and they are clean again.

The previous owner of my truck put them in there since he was a home builder and frequently got in the truck with muddy boots.

 

I just Googled Herculiner and saw they have a store locater on their website. I'm sure it's available online in countless places.

While I think it's a super cool mod (tough, easy to clean, unique, etc.), keep in mind some possible drawbacks. If you pay to have it done, you're going to be paying for many hours of prep labor. If you DIY, you're going to be doing many hours of prep labor. Road noise will most likely go up. Yes, these coatings are rubberized which would provide provide some sound dampening qualities but I doubt anywhere near the qualities of carpet.

Depends what's important to you. If you do it, post pictures. I've never seen it in a Tacoma before.
