so ive been searching around ebay a little bit and found this stereo:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/EONON-1091-7-LC...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2ea90017dd

it seems like a great deal to me, and the seller has all possitive feedback from over 400 people so i dont see why i would not purchase this item.

do you think all its functions will work correctly with my truck? (if not what will and wont work properly) im going to buy the scosche double din dash kit so i wont have a problem with installation, but anything else i should know about before purchasing this?

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
You get what you pay for. Good luck & yes it will work.

The Scoshe kit is just really hard to install, I have it and it looks really good but man it was a PAIN to install!

HU looks ok... I've never heard of it and I would just spend the extra hundred or two on a name brand one...

I have the schosche kit and it was cake to install.

Be careful what you buy. My neighbor bought one of those cheap chinese units off ebay and a month later it stopped working. He couldnt get a refund. Only "store credit" to buy another cheap POS unit.

eh...just buy a simple, brand name headunit and buy an eee pc for $100.

That's what I was going to do, but the guy I bought the truck from already installed a pioneer avic-d2, so i'm all set ^_^.

cheapass chinese crap is good for simple, usually overpriced things, but a touchscreen multifunction headunit is way to complex for any cheap chinese brand to produce with any real level of quality.

Metra KITS usually fit better, have better finish and are not the universal kit type where you have a whole bunch of pieces to choose from depending on the application.

I dissagree.. i bought the metra kit at first and gave it away i hated it so much. it was cheap and i dont like the bright silver (and how poorly it was painted). The scoshe has the smooth texture and color of the vents, and looks cleaner and a better material. I think looks much better.

After installing Stereo's for 5-1/2 years professionaly. I would never put that in my car. Go name brand for sure.

    Features - Function - Reliability

Only head Units I would use:
    Apline
    Pioneer
    Eclipse

Eclipse head units are also made by the same company that makes your factory Toyota head unit. This means your steering wheel volume/track/mode controls will still work.
