I'm about to buy a used tacoma from a private party. It just hit 36,000 so I get screwed as the general warranty is out. Can someone tell me if the 60,000 drive train warranty will transfer when I buy it?

    Thanks

The bumper to bumper warrantee was out at 3/36,000 miles....however, the power train warrantee is good for longer than that and should follow the vehicle no matter who owns it. You shouldn't have to do anything......

The question is.... I don't know the details on how long the powertrain warrantees are on the 1st gens. YOu might wanna get the VIN number and contact the dealer. Get the warrantee paperwork from the previous owner if possible.

If the owner purchased an 'extended warrantee' - he/she (previous owner has the option of getting a refund of his warrantee and not passing it along to you. And again, that's something you have to work out with the previous owner IF it has the extened warrantee.

....all of the above is based on other vehicles I've owned and not necessarily Toyota.
