    Got my letter on Monday.

I'd pull my all weather mats if they will replace my entire carpet when they come up with a solution.

    I got the letter.

I wish I had a copy of the fix that Toyota sent to the dealers about a month ago. I was in for an oil change and asked about the floormat recall.

The service rep showed me the instructions that showed poking holes in the floor mats and using cable ties to attach them to the seat brackets. Said he could do mine if I wanted.

No thanks. I didn't just pay 25-30k for a truck with $200 floor mats to have the dealer ?#$@ rig them.

    Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, I got mine yesterday. If anything, the plastic clips are too flimsy. Should be made out of something more robust.

I took some 5 inch stainless deck screws and ran about 15 of them into my floormat through the floor. That should fix it. 5 of them went in at an angle so its threaded into the frame.

Yeah, but I have Weathertechs like most everyone else.

The notice is pretty worthless considering they don't have a solution; TRASHED IT!

I got it yesterday thinking "Oh cool, I'm getting a new set of mats for free." Then I realized it just told me to take mine out for safety reasons and to wait for further notice. Not.

Ya I got a phone call all the way in England from my brother laughing. I just told him if he was going to drive my truck he better leave the mats in because I don't want my carpet getting ruined. I also added in there that if he crashed my truck him dying was going to be the least of my worries.

Anyways whats the deal with that? Am I getting new clean ones for free now or what?

    Dear Toyota,
I recently recieved your Letter informing me of my safety recall for my "dangerous" floor mats...However I am slightly dissatisfied with the level of craftsmanship the replacement mats represent. I don't see how these are any safer because no where did i find a retention clip for these either?
    Thank you for your time.

    Sincerely
    Toyota owners of the world.

P.S. I paid about $99 for the Floor mat upgrade in my vehicle because you did not include them as a base feature. So please make the Check out to
