I meant you shouldn't mount a mirror on your mirror. You should add an extension. The eye has trouble focusing on it if it was attached to the mirror surface.

Who says you shouldn't put a mirror on a mirror? If it's a safety issue, I'd like to see your source.

I don't have any problems focusing on them...

My mother was a safety engineer for a major insurance company, she passed some 'motherly' wisdom to me through out the years about things to avoid. This was one of them. I've also had 20 years in the medical field and have worked as an EMT on an ambulance crew.

Trust me, your eyes have difficulty focusing...whether or not you realize it.

I have no issues focusing. I can't see what the big difference would be between these and mirror extensions. In fact I think its more safe to have these on.

Seeing these things on mirrors makes me assume that the driver really doesn't know what he/SHE is doing. It's a big red flag that they're an unsafe driver. Kinda like a Texas plate when its snowing! :)

Big tires, big lift, Lots of stuff's.
I call bull shit On the nit being able to focus and being unsafe I have them and see fine. Plus I work in the field and in an emergency room and not once has someone said " damn if it wasn't for those little mirrors this would have never happened". I have mine set up perfectly for me and have never once found it un safe to use them.

hmmm, I have one, I guess I don't know what I'm doing

Its an adjustable 2" from advanced auto mounted inside bottom right. The fact that is adjustable is what I like about it. It helps a lot in certain situations & is just another option that I have towing, parking, blind spot on the interstate but then again I guess that makes me an unsafe driver

In no way does it replace glancing over your shoulder or getting eyes on or using the side mirror, I don't even notice it anymore.
Our side mirrors leave little to be desired in inclement weather anyway.

If you lean your head against the glass and adjust the mirror outward so you see part of the side of your truck (normal rearview sight picture) you take away your blind spot. When you sit up straight again to drive it looks odd at first but you will realize that when a car dissapears in the mirror you will be able to pick it up in the corner of your eye.

    I have no problem focusing.

smaller blind spot = greater safety

If you were an ambulance EMT, you'd remember how helpful those mirrors were when it came to changing lanes in traffic on the highway, you know, not being able to see over your shoulder and all.

mine are on the lower outside of the mirror..especially great for the trails so you can see rocks and what not when getting around obstacles that you wont see just with the stock mirror..can help save trail carnage lol..

went through several different styles before i found these ones for 2.99 at WalMart...

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
As a truck driver, i mount them in the lower corners closest to the doors.

bottom left - I'm not crazy about the way they look but after having them on my 2004 Ram plow truck I feel unsafe not having/using them. Just put 3" one the bottom left.
