A bit of locktite will do the trick.

Yah, I ran into this problem when I first got my taco, but all I did was take out a pair of pliers and wrench that mo fo down, didn't use locktite but it would probly be a good idea..

Locktite would probably work, but keep in mind that if you go through a car wash, they might try to unscrew it (or you might need to do it to prevent it getting bent over/off).

A small rubber O ring that just fits over the threads will do the trick also. When the antenna is tightened, the O ring will hold pressure against it and keep it from turning. Also makes it easier to remove if needed than with Locktite.

Don't do loctite. Just tighten the crap out of it. I'd be worried that the loctite will affect your radio signal. If you do loctite, don't do it over all the threads.

A little blue Loctite won't hurt.

To get it tight without scraping up your antenna, put a small rubber hose over the antenna and then grip that hose near the base with a pair of pliers and tighten the antenna. The rubber hose will grip the antenna tight enough to tighten it, but it won't grip it so much that you strip out the threads or snap off the stud.

So is your antenna just coming loose on its own, or is it from banging it on the top of the garage door going in and out? I just got a shorter antenna.

^I would imagine on it's own: vibration from flapping in the wind. That's how mine came loose. I also replaced mine but just for looks. I went with a black shortie antenna.

Just wanted to add, it doesn't affect my reception at all. I did just what you say, though, a small dab on one side.

OK, fixed it good.

It was coming loose on its own, from just road jarring. I don't and haven't knocked it on anything.

I also will not remove it for car washes.

I wash at home.

Reception is as always, normal.

Went with red Locktite and padded vise grips.

Thanks all.
