okay so i'm dedicated to making sure my husband has a great christmas this year-in order to do so i joined this group just to have some help!!! he has a 2009 toyota tacoma TRD. I would absolutely love to have a great set of subs under the tree for him this year -but the issue is i don't know what to get there are so many brands and such out there and i figured what better way to find out what he'd want then by asking a large number of tacoma owners- so.... need help!!! what should i get and i'd love to go ahead and get a box for them as well- what size would i need? any input is welcomed!!!

    thanks!!!

Your screen name and gender might give it away. Also your city and state could contribute as well. :spy: For being undercover.

he still uses the factory radio.... so by chance would a 12" subwoofer by rockford fosgate work and how big would the box have to be to fix in the tacoma- would it go behind the seats in the back or under the back seats?

You should get him a head unit!! A head unit would actually make all the stock components sound muuuuch better (speakers i mean). The first step is replacing the factory radio and getting a head unit, Double DINS (not the narrow little head units the big ones with screens) run for anywhere from 200-400$ (decent ones) you should look at some from pioneer!! After you get him a head unit, he can then go ahead and get subs and amps

these are the speakers I got for my truck and i love them
    http://shop.*********.com/product.sc?productId=62&categoryId=18

they come with the adapters and everything.

as for a new head unit I would just go to best buy/local audio shop and anything from pioneer or alpine will be good, i think the midrange to higher end kenwoods are nice too.
