Insuring your lifted truck

lol... when my truck got hit a few years back.... the insurance adjuster just looked at me and shook his head when he showed up and saw all the PIAA lights across the front that were smashed. Everything was covered but they did not like that it was...

 

I doubt they would be able to tell it was lifted if you go 2.5" inches. insurance companies usually just go snap a quick pic for their records.

 

plus why would dealerships sell lifted Tacomas if they couldnt be insured, makes no sense.

To the OP:

Why would they even know if you lifted the truck? Did you call to ask them first or something? I'm just curious as to why the insurance company was involved to begin with.

Like others have already said, I would look into a new insuring company.

Oh and to answer the op's question, no my insurance company didn't give me any grief after I got in my accident and told them what I wanted to do. They just asked where they send the check.

 

I checked with mine, as long as I can prove via receipts or pictures (showed him TW) that said items were on the truck he would insure for going amount.
He said I better not let anything happen to it..........
