    oil change...
    on more than one occasion I have had my K&N CAI filter fall of the intake tube after wheeling.
    Today i was driving to work and my truck was acting pretty funny. would accelerate very wierd. So at lunch i poped the hood and my filter was just sitting there...un attached...well goooodddd..... who knows what kind of crap i sucked into my engine!?:eek:

    yeah,you could have sucked water,dirt,bugs,or even a ground squirrel in there..................poor guys.

    This has happened to me before with K&N intakes, not on this truck but other cars. Check the seal, sometimes some of the oil from the filter gets between the filter and the tube where it attaches and makes it easy for it to fall off.

    You really have to crank down the metal clamp on them, try using a socket wrench instead of a screw driver, you can get it a little tighter, should be an 8 or 10mm, I can't remember.

    good idea, I need to get a new hose clap and torque down on that sucker

    Bilstein 5100 Lift with rear 1" blocks, ARE Z series topper with Yakima rack and Rola basket, some audio equipment, some more goodies
    Actually happened to mine pretty recently with the K&N. Ended up throwing my check engine light. Just before the light came on it was idling weird, then the light came on. Popped the hood and about flipped the hell out. Other than that I am very happy with the intake, now I just need to pair a muffler up with it.

    yea i added a 50 series flow with mine recently. i hear my muffler till about 2500 rpm after that all i hear is the intake!
