What I meant to say is that no cop is going to write you for 10 over. How you drive is your own affair.
In So. Calif., if you are not going 80, they run you down. I had a CHP motor pass me. And I was doing 85.
And the badge says Traffic Officer.

Cops are like everyone else. You meet the good, bad and the ugly.
But the bad ones dont` work here.

The binos will last. In any event, it is a better investment for just safety purposes.
If people are really trying to kill you; you are not paranoid. I assure you that there are people out there with 4,000 lbs. of deadly weapon that will do just that if your attention lapses.
I have seen people fracture the VC right in front of a marked unit. Light bar and all. It was an unsafe lane change and a right on a red without even slowing. I had pressing business, so he,or she. got away with it. But Geeze.......Don`t these prople ever look at thier enviroment?
I have heard people lie when the truth would help them.
I know that I am beating a dead horse here. My fellow forumites are too smart to follow too closely, or do the myriad things that I have to see in TA`s.
Trust me, it is not worth the few seconds that you think you will save.
I`ll pull the pin now. But I hope you think about this
Stay Safe.

please... Why do we need bans on talking on the cell while driving and require hands free units is if people paid attention?

I can't count the number of accidents I've avoided because the other guy/gal was paying more attention to something other than the road.

We don`t. I think that wearing a seat belt is a good idea. But it is your choice.
I use a radio. And a cell. The laws of Marconi will not keep a vehicle between you and the ground. I try not to use it in a traffic pattern. You should do your commo before you are busy.

A friend of mine got a ticket for 75 in a 65 on the freeway in San Diego. Cop must have been having a bad day.

I have the Valentine 1. LOVE the arrows.

Cincinnati Microwave/passports have always turned to junk on me. I had the first passport, it started singing to me on my way to work when it was just me on the road. No cops but plenty of noise.

So I bought another one, 7900? After about a year, same thing. You'd have thought the cops were parked every 200 yards if you took it at its word. Junked it, and being of thick skull....

Bought the 8500? I now have the laser band disabled because driving down the road is like being an intruder on the Death Star, freaking laser everywhere if you believe'd it. Junk, in my opinion.

V1 is running strong. They have free upgrades to their hardware. Only thing I miss is the remote mute switch, on the lighter/plug. Hate reaching to the windshield.

It's been mentioned here already though. If laser goes off (for real), you've just been notified that you're going to be pulled over. Might give you enough time to yank it from the windshield.

And with gas what it is, who speeds anymore anyway? I'm the red Taco in the slow lane going the speed limit. With the V1 mounted...

He was doing in exess of that. He had a good day at 10 over.
When I used to cite I wrote in excess and pulling.
Folks were so grateful not to be written for what they were really doing, I seldom had to appear.
If I do, and you ruin my day off; Officer friendly just turned into your worst nightmare.
I keep notes. You will pay for every mile over. As well as any other violation that I let slide but noted.

I get tickets when I get a new vehicle. Case in point: Labor Day weekend. Had the Tacoma two weeks. Trying to merge, nobody would let me in, sped up too fast, got caught. Hey, it happens and it was all my fault. The friendly HP officer gave me a two point ticket because, as I've told people over and over, if you're honest and friendly, most times they'll cut you a break. Besides, they'd rather be writing a ticket than cordoning another traffic fatality.

You do know they make the concealed display adapter for the V1 which can be mounted just about anywhere so it could be at a finger's reach instead of somewhere on the windshield

I don't drive enough to feel the need to go 10+ over the limit. 9/10 I'm going with the flow of traffic.

You don't need one if you keep it below 10 over.

I did get an S2 Solo Escort a couple of years ago, before that several tickets that hurt me a lot, after it... until now NOTHING. As mentioned before you better go with speed limits... you may drive great at high speeds but you are not alone out there. Drive carefully someone is always waiting for you.

everyone is going to laser, i figured the cheapest way out was to just never go more than 5-10over and thats if im in a hurry. it also has this weird effect where i burn less gas??? weird saving money two ways to buy the fun crap for offroading, but thats just me i guess
