Switchblade Key

Anyone have a switchblade key fob? I would love to combine the key with the remote.

This looks cool, maybe cheap quality though.

wow, $100 for the fob itself then more to get dealer/locksmith to do some work... lots of cash for a little cool factor...

 

You can get it cheaper on ebay but the quality of both is substandard.

 

Has anyone tried the ones they sell on ebay ? I would like to get something different. I was pretty pissed, last year when i got to drive a carolla while my spark
plugs were getting changed, and saw it had a all in one key, and the tacoma does not.

 

It's a neat idea, but a real PITA when you have to carry it around in your pocket.

I had a rental car a few years ago that had one and I hated it.

 

i was just wondering if anyone had one, i really wish i could just get that
corolla key, to work with the tacoma. that had everything on one key, and small. my father in law's neighbor programs keys at a local auto auction. i will just ask him, next time i see him. i got so many keys, just was trying to look at something different.

 

Link didn't work for me. But anyway, my step-daughters car Mazda 6 has it, It's kinda bulky, at least when you combine it with other car keys and the remote. The Mazda used to be my wife's so I carried it with my keys sometimes. I say sometimes due to the fact that it was bulky. If I knew I wasn't going to need it I would leave it at home. It's cool though if You are not carrying other remotes along with it imo. Although it did open in my pocket at times. I still have the same issue with the wife's new car, Her Accord key is big as it has the remote built into the key. I would rather have the remote separate as it would be easier to carry in my pocket along with the other keys. Us guys need a universal remote so we dont have too much bulk in our pockets. Or is that a good thing...........

google, was the first place i looked. i was just wondering if anyone had tried the one on ebay. $100 for a key, no way. $45, if as good, i might bite. i have bought enough stuff over the web, it still shocks me the difference in prices you see across the board on a item. you can really save money, if you take time and look.

 

If the Pics on eBay and Amazon are representative of the product....
The price difference is obvious
I'd pay $100 for quality before $50 for something questionable.

OP thanks for starting this thread. I was looking at these the other day on ebay. I wonder if they are made of cheap materials and will snap in the ignition.

 

was waiting for the 2.0

really though, I still would want an integrated Remote/key fob. I really do not like having the toyota fob around.

 

Hey Guys I'm selling flip keys. They already have the controls and g keyblade so you don;t have to mutalate your current key. All and all this is the most cost effective way to get the mod done as well as a blank from what I have seen. Only additional fee is to have a locksmith cut it. Which I had done for $8.00
