Hey all. New here. I have a 2008 Sport double cab with long bed. I want to put BFG all terrain KO on. My mechanic/tire guy is trying to talk me out of them. He says they will bounce all over the place and be loud. I have taken my cars to him for over 20 years so he is not trying to upsell me, in fact he is suggesting Bridgestone Dueller AT which is actually a little cheaper tire. I used to have a Suburban and had the BFG on that with no problems but he said they are 10 ply and the Suburban was heavy. The Tacoma is too light for these tires and I will be miserable. I do a lot of freeway driving so I don't want a loud rough ride but love the way they look. anyone out there have these tires on and any experience or thoughts?

    Thanks!

I have the BFGs on my truck. Not really a lot of road noise. Not much that I can tell from the tires that came on the truck. Don't do too much freeway driving though.

Thanks for the info. So 10 ply are way too stiff for this light of a truck. Your reply helped a lot/

imo they are if you had a full size chev or ford they would be fine but like your mechanic said tacomas are too light. I think if you are staying under 265/75/16 in the bfg ko's I think they have a 6 ply????

I have the TA/KO on my gen1. They are not the 10 ply. I have the 10 ply on my Dodge 3/4 ton. They are not noisey (to me) and they seem to perform well. What I most like about them is their 3-ply sidewall - much more strength than the Bridgestone's which I had a bad sidewall blowout with.
