I know the feeling. Had a 99 2wd f150. Wasn't for me at all. Sometimes in winter I couldn't get out of my driveway. Went to a 4x4 and never getting anything else.

I've had no problems pulling our boat out of launching ramps or going up to big bear . There are times that I wish I had it too though, but then again I do love the fact that I have spindles and 4wd can't have lift spindles.

My first truck I bought was a 4x4 and before I purchased it, I was considering getting a 2wd and most people that I had talked to all convinced me to buy a 4x4, especially with the winters we have here in Canada. I'm sure glad I did now. The Tacoma I have now is also a 4x4 and don't regret it.

You're never stuck with the vehicle, if you don't like it, look for a 4x4.
    Did you buy it new?

You can sell it, trade it in, ect... you're never stuck. It does suck taking the financial loss... but if it doesn't work for what you need, and you're not happy with a huge investment like that... it might be worth getting what you really want. There's nothing worse than looking at something you bought every day for years on end going "man I wish I did......................"

I do that with my house every day :D

In that case, you're not upside-down on the truck at all, and you're in the best position you could be should you want to sell it and upgraded to 4x4. Just sell privately and you should make out pretty well.

Your dad bought you the truck when you were 16? Well then your pretty lucky to have a free truck! I wouldn't whine thats its only 2wd. Your a lot luckier then many of us here paying our vehicles off.
