Thinking of buying a small Toy Hauler

Looking at the 15 ft or 16 ft Dune Sports toy haulers out of Arizona. Dry weight is 3100 on the 15 footer and 3580 on the 16 footer. I would have a 600 racebike, 125 scooter with necessary items such as generator, gas, stands, tools. Two people me and my wife. Will my Taco pull it okay? I will get the distribution hitch.

http://dunesport.com

My calculations have me at about 5500 lbs total give or take 100, 200 lbs. I know gas mileage will not be good and I plan on doing 60-65 mph when traveling.

Look around in here http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/towing/

You have the factory tow package? Trailer brakes?
I think you would be fine and yes your gas mileage will be terrible.

I have the factory tow package. Most trips are 275 to 475 one way. Even with spending more on gas I still get to sleep in my own bed. I am OCD about that.

Those look like nice little haulers, I'd look into one of those if my bf left me ...we have a 30ft weekend warrior toyhauler, so I have to agree having your own bed and toilet while camping/traveling is awesome.

From what I have found out talking to others have them. They are average along the travel trailer ranks. None of them are built really well and stuff breaks. Extended warranty money well spent here so I am told. We spend at least 20 weekends a year gone to a racetrack or mountain riding so for us it really is needed. Motels are so nasty these days I have really noticed this in the past 10 years. The industry is a ripp off IMO. Being at a racetrack self contained is nice especially in the deep south summers, it gets super humid here. AC is a much needed item. I wish they were closer, it will be a 1500 one way haul for me to get it 3000 round trip.

I've looked at those trailers too. I think you have to go to an 18 ft. to get a real bed.

Not exactly the loft drop down bed is a queen in size. Plenty big for me and my wife she is 5'2" and I am 5'9". Both light weights. 16' looks to be what I need and according to them that is the largest they recommend for the Tacoma V6. 3580 lbs dry. Is about as good as it gets for one of these I have looked at all the brands.
